Ben’s Story: How We Helped

Today, we tell the story of Ben, an elderly man who lived alone in Tallahassee after having unfortunately lost his wife. His family from Tampa had decided to get him from Tallahassee and bring him closer. They banded together and went to Tallahassee and started to pack up all his possessions. 

Now, the elderly have had their entire lives to grow their collection of things. Even the cleanest and the most organized elderly person likely has a large collection of memories in their home. It was safe to say, they needed to get a storage unit. With money being low, they found an inexpensive storage unit to hold all his items.

Once in Tampa, Ben got approved for assisted living. The family was happy for Ben and drove back to Tallahassee to retrieve his items. To their dismay, after opening the storage unit they found that ALL the items and boxes had been infested with insects. This was absolutely devastating, and they had no idea how they would be able to replace what he needed, let alone all the memories. 

They reached out to me so I could keep a look out for anything that could help, and Juzt Because Inc. was pleased to help. We assisted in getting all the furniture replaced, along with necessary items for the bathroom and kitchen. We couldn’t help but feel for Ben and his family. Even though we couldn’t bring back everything, we were proud to have covered all his needs, and wants, Juzt Because.
